Royal Swimming Pools would like to take this time to wish you and your family a “Safe and Happy Thanksgiving!” During the holidays while families gather together we want to give everyona few tips on deep frying a turkey.
- Turkey fryers should always be used outdoors a safe distance from buildings and other materials that can catch on fire.
- Never use turkey fryers on a wooden deck or in a garage.
- Always use the fryers on a flat and even surface, to help prevent the fryer from tipping over.
- Make sure the turkey is completely thawed, and also be careful with marinating it. Oil and water do not mix, and the water can cause the oil to spill over and start a fire or explosion hazard.
- Never leave the fryer unattended.
- Never allow children or pets near the fryer. It only takes a few seconds for an accident to happen. Even several hours later the grease can be very hot.
- Do not overfill the fryer. Doing so may cause the oil to catch on fire from the burner.
- Be careful of handling the lid or the handles of the fryer, as they become very hot.
- Make sure you protect your eyes from oil splatter.
- Never use water to try and extinguish a grease fire. If you pour water on a grease or an oil fire, it will not extinguish it, it will only cause the burning oil to splash, spreading the grease fire.
Royal Swimming Pools Wishes you a Safe and Happy Holiday Season!
