  1. Thank you for the great pool calculator, makes it really easy for someone to work how much chemical they need to add. there is no point adding more than you need as it only costs you money and does not give you any benefits.

    For you math purists out there, calculate as follows for a round pool:

    (pi)x r (squared)(ftxft)x depth (ft)x7.48 gallons/cubic ft)= gallons

    so for a 15 ft round pool of 4 ft depth:
    3.1416 x 7.5ft x 7.5ft x 4ft x 7.48g/cubic ft= 5287 gallons
